Law enforcement can be a very dangerous profession because officers are working in highly dynamic situations. A quiet day could, in a moment’s notice, turn into a life-threatening situation with the next call.

Four law enforcement officers in Kansas were shot and wounded (and survived) at a home responding to a domestic violence call on Saturday morning. The incident is being investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

The shooting took place at approximately 10:30 am local time in the Carbondale area. The law enforcement officers were at the location for a short time until the gunfire started.

Three of the wounded officers were Deputies of the Osage County Sheriff’s Department, and the fourth officer was a trooper for the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Fox News Reported:

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating after multiple law enforcement officers were shot Saturday during a domestic violence incident in Osage County.

KBI officials said the shooting happened at about 10:30 a.m. local time, at a home north of Carbondale.

Deputies and troopers were at the scene for several minutes before gunfire erupted, according to the KBI.

The suspect was killed on scene. The man’s identity so far has not been released. Another man sustained injuries but was reported to be in stable condition.

All four officers were being treated at the hospital for their injuries.

The Topeka Police Department had sent some officers to the scene for extra support. It was reported that none of their officers were hurt.

This is a breaking story. Check back for potential updates.
